REGISTER

Registration for the 2025-2026 season will open June 2nd.  Registration will be open for returning SOMHA players and players new to hockey, that live within our boundary.  This will be for U7, U9, U11 and recreation players in U13, U15 and U18.

Registration to tryout for a representative team at U13, U15 and U18 will be done through OMAHA for the 2025-2026 season here.   If selected for a representative team, the player will register with the association hosting the team.  More information on the Rep Zone Pilot can be found on the OMAHA Website.

Prior to any player participation, one parent or guardian must complete the Respect in Sport for Parents online course.  You can register here.  

First time player - Please submit a copy of your player's birth certificate and proof of address to the the registrar via email.  The registrar will create a Hockey Canada profile for your player and provide the ID required to complete the registration.

Residential Waivers will not be considered until the registration period has closed for our members and will be reviewed on a division by division basis.

Please Note: Team Fees (above and beyond those fees mentioned here) will be added by each individual team at the beginning of the season.

ONLINE REGISTRATION -  NOW AVAILABLE

If you want to register a player who has not previously played hockey, please contact our registrar for assistance via email at registrar.southok@gmail.com. You will need to submit an image of your player's birth certificate with proof of address documentation to have a Hockey Canada profile created for you.

The steps below are for returning players that are part of the South Okanagan Minor Hockey Association only.

To register your returning player through TeamSnap, you will need your child's Hockey Canada ID number. Instructions to retrieve this are below.

  1. Log into Hockey Canada. If you have never made an account before, you will need to register. If you have forgotten your password, the 'Forgot Password' link now works.
  2. Once you are logged in, click 'Register a Participant' button
  3. Enter your child's name and birth date, and click 'Register' Scroll to the bottom of the page and a box will be there with your child's name, birth date and Hockey Canada ID

First time players will pay the early registration fee, however registrations submitted after July 1st may be placed on a wait list until team numbers are confirmed.  If you are new to the association and registering after July 1st, please contact the Registrar for availability information.

Players that have moved to our area and will be transferring from another association, will need to complete a Move with Parent Form. Transfers can take some time, so you should submit the documentation as soon as possible.  Players will not be permitted to participate until the transfer is complete.
