SOMHA is pleased to offer a program for players that are new to hockey.  The Learn to Play program will allow families to get started playing hockey, with less time commitment and a set weekly ice session.  This will be for players who are new to minor hockey and want to learn the basics with similar skilled players.  Full equipment will be required and parents are welcome to participate if they complete the Hockey Canada requirements to participate on ice.  Attached is a list of required equipment as well as an equipment fitting guide.
The program will cost $125 and will run for 10 weeks on Wednesday from 3:30-4:15pm at the Sun Bowl arena in Osoyoos.  We will be running two sessions, the first will be October to December and then January to March.
Our coaches will monitor the players’ development and those who progress quickly may be offered the option to join a team at their age level.  Players who advance to a minor hockey team will only pay the difference of the Learn to Play fee and their division’s rate.
To register for the Learn to Play program, your player will need a Hockey Canada ID, this can be created by our association registrar.  Please submit an image of your player’s birth certificate and a proof of address document (utility bill, driver’s license, care card) to registrar.southok@gmail.com.
